An Important End-time Scenario

Truly the Lord is preparing His Bride for the swiftly approaching end. As we see Him working towards the end, there is a very important scenario that Jesus spoke of that God's people really need to consider as we look at the parable of the 10 virgins:

Mat 25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
Mat 25:2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
Mat 25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
Mat 25:4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
Mat 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
Mat 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go ye out to meet him.
Mat 25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
Mat 25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
Mat 25:9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
Mat 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
Mat 25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
Mat 25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
Mat 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man comes.

Today, God is rousing the 10 virgins from their slumber & they are now "trimming their lamps" (adjusting their doctrines & theology to match what the Father has said). This is what is happening this day...all over the world. There is a holy war going on...debates & thresh the word of God. It is important that we understand God's word & walk in true doctrine. But, that in itself is not what God desires of us.

In the parable we see that...unfortunately only the 5 "wise" virgins took the time to have the oil in their lamps. The foolish did not take oil with them...they were only concerned with "trimming their lamps. What we see here, is that the 5 foolish wasted all of their time arguing & fighting over doctrines, instead of seeking the oil of God so they could go into the Wedding. This must be a wake-up call to the Body of Christ to heed the Lord's words, as we see the day is at hand.

While being established in "sound doctrine" IS important, we must never make this our only priority. For by doing so, we make the word of God, a "god" before God. God does want us to understand what He has told us in His word. He does want us to walk in what He has said, but that is not all He wants. More than anything else He wants to have a relationship with us. He wants to commune with our spirit by His Holy Spirit. Jesus made a startling declaration in John 17:

Joh 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Jesus didn't say that having "right doctrine" was eternal life. Jesus didn't say spending all of our time arguing & fighting our over who is right about a doctrine was eternal life. He said THIS is eternal life...that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Yes, having right doctrine is important, but those that have become caught up in arguing & fighting about doctrine have lost sight of what God really wants of us. He doesn't want a person that is an expert & knows His laws...He wants a person that knows HIM. He wants a person that communes with Him. He wants us to be with Him. We are to read His word...we are to ask Him to help us understand it. He doesn't want us to get caught up in the very things that the Pharisees & Sadducees did. They were SO caught up in "right doctrine" that they crucified the very one that they said they believed was coming.

When Jesus met the woman at the well in John 4 & made this statement:

Joh 4:23 But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:
for the Father seeks such to worship him.
Joh 4:24
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

So many are spending all of their time in "truth" alone...& they do not have any "spirit"...they have no "oil". Jesus said that we MUST worship him in spirit and in truth. Not just truth....not just spirit...we need BOTH truth & spirit. This is where the enemy is able to deceive God's people, because God's people do not even follow what they say they believe. A person that is only fixated on the "truth" will not have much, if any "oil". A person that is only fixated on the "oil", might get unbalanced & not have sound doctrine. We need a balance of the two...truth & spirit.

God is all about "INTIMACY"...we cannot be intimate with Him without both truth & spirit. We can learn everything about God...about His word & never KNOW HIM. We can only know Him, by the Holy Spirit, as we commune with Him with our spirit.

In the parable of the 10 virgins, the 5 foolish went to buy oil...but you will notice that it does NOT say that they returned WITH OIL. The door to the wedding closed while they were gone. Then these virgins, said: "Lord, Lord, open to us.".  but the Lord answered them: Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

There is a "cost' to "buying" the oil. It takes much time seeking the Lord & spending time in His presence to buy the oil. These virgins had the truth....but the truth alone couldn't get them into the wedding. Isaiah 55:6 says: "Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near" God's people need to seek the Lord while He can be found....once the door has will be too late!

May we all seek the Lord in the time ahead & not only study His word, but also seek His presence & be filled with His oil!
